Yemeni official says gunmen kill 3 soldiers in attack on army checkpoint

SANAA, Yemen - A Yemeni security official says local tribesmen have killed three soldiers and wounded another in an attack on an army checkpoint.
The official says residents in the southern province of Lahaj opened fire on the army post Saturday because they were upset about the military deploying troops to the area.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to brief the media.
