بلاغ إلى مفوضية الأمم المتحدة لحقوق الإنسان حول جرائم ذكرى يوم الكرامة الجنوبية

يهدي المرصد الجنوبي لحقوق الإنسان أطيب تحياته إلى مفوضية الأمم المتحدة لحقوق الإنسان الموقرة.

يرفع المرصد الجنوبي إلى مفوضية الأمم المتحدة لحقوق الإنسان الموقرة بلاغ هام وعاجل يتعلق بالانتهاكات التي ارتكبتها قوات النظام اليمني يوم أمس الخميس الموافق 21 فبراير2013 بمشاركة عناصر مسلحة من حزب الإصلاح اليمني في محافظة عدن من جرائم ضد الإنسانية بحق عدد من أبناء جنوب اليمن الذين راحوا ضحايا لنيران تلك القوات نتيجة لإطلاق الرصاص الحي والمباشر على مسيرات سلمية نظمها المواطنون في عدد من مدن المحافظة إحياء لذكرى يوم " الكرامة الجنوبية " في 21 من فبراير، حيث أسفرت تلك " المجزرة " على سقوط إحدى عشر قتيلا وثلاثة وخمسين جريح. إن المرصد الجنوبي لحقوق الإنسان ( ساهر ) إذ يحمل مسئولية تلك الجرائم التي لا تزال مستمرة لقوات السلطات اليمنية ومن يواليها من عناصر في حزب الإصلاح اليمني. وبصدده نطالب المفوضية العليا وعبرها المجتمع الدولي بالعمل على إنقاذ مواطني الجنوب والتدخل العاجل لحمايتهم وضمان حقوقهم الإنسانية في الحياة والحرية والكرامة.

وعليه فإن المرصد الجنوبي وثقة منه في قدرة المفوضية العليا في تحمل مسئوليتها الإنسانية، يرى ضرورة إرسال لجنة دولية محايدة ومستقلة بأقرب فرصة ممكنه للتحقيق في تلك الجرائم البشعة وضمان عدم إفلات مرتكبيها والمتواطئين معها من العقاب.
ينتهز المرصد الجنوبي لحقوق الإنسان ( ساهر ) هذه الفرصة ليعرب لمفوضية الأمم المتحدة لحقوق الإنسان عن خالص التقدير والاحترام.

Appeal to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights
Regarding Crimes Committed on the Anniversary of
the Day of the South’s Dignity
The Southern Observatory for Human Rights presents its compliments to the esteemed United Nations Commission on Human Rights, and wishes to bring to its attention an urgent appeal of utmost importance regarding the violations committed by forces affiliated with the Yemeni regime on Thursday the 21st of February 2013, along with armed members of Alislah Party ‘Hizbul-Islah’ in the Yemeni province of Aden. Those grave violations constitute crimes against humanity, targeting people from Southern Yemen, as those forces used live ammunition against peaceful marches organized by citizens in a number of cities in the province to commemorate ‘the Day of the South’s Dignity’ on the 21st of February. This ‘massacre’ resulted in eleven people being killed and fifty injured (attached are details on each case, including photographs and video recordings).
While the Southern Observatory for Human Rights holds the Yemeni authorities and Alislah Party ‘Hizbul-Islah’ responsible for the continued crimes committed by their forces; it calls upon the United Nations Commission and the international community to take action in order to save the citizens of the South, and to urgently intervene to protect them and ensure that their basic human rights to life, liberty and dignity are respected.
Therefore, the Southern Observatory, confident in the High Commission being fully capable of undertaking its humanitarian mandate, recommends deputing an impartial and independent international commission as soon as possible to investigate these heinous acts, and to ensure that the perpetrators and their allies do not commit such crimes with impunity.
The Southern Observatory for Human Rights avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights the assurances of its highest consideration and esteem
