شهدت مدينة عتق عاصمة محافظة شبوة صباح اليوم مهرجان كرنفالي عسكري ومسيرة جماهيري حاشدة احياء للذكرى الــ 49 لثورة 14 اكتوبر . وقد توافد الآلاف من ابناء الجنوب منذ الصباح الباكر إلى ساحة الحرية والاستقلال بمدينة عتق حاملين الاعلام الجنوبية وصور الشهداء والمعتقلين واللافتات المهنئة بهذة المناسبة والمؤكده على السير قدماً نحو الحرية والاستقلال . حيث نظم عرض كرنفالي قام خلاله احد كبار السن بتسليم العلم الجنوبي للشباب الجنوبي مؤكدين مواصلة النضال حتى استعادة الدولة . وقد دخلت الفرق الكرنفالية وهي " العسكرية " و " العلم الجنوبي " و " الاطباء والدكاترة " و " طلاب المدارس " و " الزي الشعبي " وغيرها من الفرق الكرنفالية حيث رددت الشعارات الثورية الجنوبية
